AHCC history

AHCC – a brief history

Back in 2007, the idea of starting a cycling club in the Adelaide Hills was put forward by Wolfgang Harder. A meeting was held at Mt Barker on 27 November 2007 and the club was incorporated on January 11 2008.

The club began as a Veterans Club – the Adelaide Hills Veterans Cycling Club – for riders over age 35 for males and over ager 30 for females.

On 1 January 2021, after a meeting of members on 8 November 2020, the club affiliated with the newly formed AusCycling, changed its name to the Adelaide Hills Cycling Club, and opened its membership and events to riders under 30.
