MEMBERSHIP FEES FOR 2019

Hi everyone

Our membership fees for 2019 have been reviewed by the Committee.

The fees are heavily influenced by the National Body – the AVCC, especially in relation to insurance costs (insurance costs amount to nearly 75% of AVCC expenses!).

The AVCC has advised that, due in particular to increases in rider insurance premiums, it will be upping its share of the membership fees, plus passing on to the clubs some of the processing fees for managing memberships – all up it comes to a little over $20 for 2019.

We won’t be increasing the club’s share of the membership fees and will absorb the ‘little over $20’ bit. This will limit the overall annual membership fee increase to the $20 that will all go to the AVCC.

Fees haven’t changed much for a good few years and we’ll keep managing our club’s finances to keep up the good racing at not much cost to you folks.

So for 2019, the AHMCC membership fee will be: $160

We will continue to have NO associate membership fee.

For our current members – we’ll let you know when it’s all clear to renew for 2019.

Please let us know if you have any comments or questions:

Hi everyone

Our club Road Race championships are happening on Sunday 30 September. Come along and get yourself some precious metal around your neck!

We are joining up with Southern Districts to make it a combined event but each club will award medals based on how their own members perform in the age groups: you are only competing against riders in our club. But this does allow you to size up the competition prior to the State Championships the following week.

Registrations via this wed site

Course details are also available on the registrations page.

Racing stats at 9am

Location: the SDVCC club rooms, McLaren Flat.

CLUB KIT – SOME GREAT NEWS!

Hi everyone

I’m really pleased to announce that Blackchrome has come on board as supplier of our club kit.

Even better, Blackchrome will sponsor our club through some significant discounts on the normal kit prices, plus will offer a broader range of items to see you looking fab out on the road.

Details will follow soon, including how to get your order in (we will be keeping the same kit design BTW so all good on that).

A few of our members wear Blockchrome kit and speak very highly of it. Sarah and I have had a look and a test ride and found it to be really good to wear.

HOW OLD?

Hi everyone

Our club initiated a proposal to have the minimum age to hold an AVCC racing licence to age 30 for both females and males.

This would bring the AVCC in to line with the more broadly accepted definition of masters-level cycling both here in Australia and internationally, get rid of an antiquated age differential, and open masters racing to a broader audience.

We successfully lobbied to SAMCA, and SAMCA then to the AVCC, where this change has been approved!

The AVCC is working on an implementation plan and date. As soon as we hear more, we’ll let you know.

It’s a great outcome and something we are proud to have been able to get done.
