We have been keeping an eye on the COVID-19 virus pandemic and what impact it may have on our events.
Information about COVID-19 can be found on the Government Web site here: https://www.health.gov.au/resources/collections/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-resources
There is also a ‘FAQ’ document that would be useful to review: https://www.health.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/2020/03/coronavirus-covid-19-frequently-asked-questions_0.pdf
Based on current Government announcements, events can proceed but we suggest you:
(a) Do not attend events if:
- You have been in any of the high risk declared zones in the past two weeks: list is here: https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert#travellers-and-visitors
- You have been in contact with anyone who has been travelling in those zones, or are concerned you may have been in contact with anyone that has Coronavirus
(b) If you have recently travelled to any other country, to monitor your health for 14 days after leaving the country. If you develop a fever or cough, seek medical advice urgently, self-isolate and do not attend any rides or races until it is confirmed that there is no infection.
(c) We also ask everyone to practice high levels of hygiene (washing hands, use hand sanitizer etc) and avoid physical contact (e.g. shaking hands in medal presentations, sharing microphones etc).
