Riding safely
Three rules for every rider, in every grade and every race:
- Red flashing rear light on, for the whole race. Drivers see a flashing light long before they see a rider.
- Never overtake a car, including the follow car of another grade. If a car is ahead of the bunch, the race waits behind it.
- Stay left of the centre line, at all times, including on corners and in the sprint. The roads are open to traffic.
Other notes
Graded scratch on an out-and-back course along Terlinga Rd towards Birdwood. Everyone rides one full lap (21.9 km: start, out and back to the finish), then shorter 18.8 km loops between the two turnarounds. Turnaround 1 is 1.5 km from the finish.
