Riding and racing

AHCC Women

Come and ride and race with us.

A group of women riders on road bikes at the start of a social ride

Women are welcome at AHCC.

Adelaide Hills Cycling Club is an inclusive club, and we'd love you to ride and race with us.

Come and try racing

Grades are by speed, not gender, and women race in every grade. Grades suit all abilities, and the courses are familiar Adelaide cycling routes.

Margaret Boylan, our Women's Co-ordinator, has been racing with AHCC for some years and is happy to guide you through your first race. Start with Your first race: it takes you from no licence to the finish line, and shows how to pick a grade by speed. Want to talk it through first? Email [email protected] and ask for Margaret.

Come for a ride

Women are welcome on our social rides. They're beginner friendly: a good place to start if you already ride but haven't done much yet, or you're new to riding in a group.

You'll need a current AusCycling Ride membership or higher, and Join the club says how. Before your first ride, read Riding safely.

To find out what's coming up, email [email protected].

These are club rides: open roads, normal traffic, no marshals. Lights on (red flashing rear and front), no more than two abreast, and single file when the ride leader calls it.

Help us build it

We'd love more women to become Road Ride Leaders, welcome new riders and help build a supportive community. Margaret also co-ordinates the club's ride leaders and assists AusCycling with its accreditation courses. Interested? Email [email protected].
